After dabbling in more experimental, electronic-driven sounds on their recent releases, Gold Coast post-punk outfit The Lonesomes came out swinging with their most recently released single Black & Blue, stripping back to their blistering roots with a supporting run of live shows.

The track featured was added to high rotation on ABC's Rage for 8 weeks, was played on Triple J and  Spotify playlisted on the likes of 'Fresh Finds AU & NZ', 'All New Punk Playlist' and 'Wire'.

Built on heavy riffs and frantic drums, it’s raw, it’s fast, and it’s a reminder of the band’s punk foundations which has seen them support the likes of The Chats, Bad//Dreems, Dune Rats, Mammal and Gut Health with upcoming supports of DZ Deathrays and These New South Whales in Mar/Apr of 2026.

Produced, Engineered and mixed once again with George Carpenter (Delta Riggs, Drug Cult) and mastered by Joseph Carra (King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard), Black & Blue captures the icy edge and unflinching energy that has become The Lonesomes’ signature, helping them to land a slew of high-profile synch opportunties (Billabong, Surf Dive N Ski) and festival appearances.

With a run of East Coast release shows on the back of the new single, the band took their explosive live set on the road through late 2025 to much critical acclaim and positive review with plans in the works to hit the road under the steam of a host of new track releases in 2026.

Known for chaotic energy, relentless pace and a knack for keeping every show unpredictable on top of superb video clip aesthetics, The Lonesomes continue to prove why they’re one of Australia’s most exciting emerging post-punk acts.

“The Lonesomes hit all three targets. The songs are great, they’re great at playing them, and they seem to be having a terrific time playing together. Really, really good.”
